Great experience at Hanzo. We came to celebrate a friend's birthday and took the tasting menu. They were very kind in customizing the menu to remove the food we could not eat. We were so happy with the variety and amount of food that was served! Everything was delicious, but I especially loved the fish cake with cheese and the salmon tartar bowl. Highly recommend the tasting menu, so worth it!

Good selection of food. Attentive service. It wasn't busy when we went for dinner, so pretty quiet atmosphere, which made it easy to chat at our table. I was so busy eating, that I didn't take pictures of all the dishes we tried. I have food allergies to gluten, egg and dairy, and there was still enough for me to eat. My friends said their food was good.

I love this place, it's one of my top Japanese tapas place. I've been here probably a dozen of times, since I tried it. They have nice drinks, they make a killer bloody Ceasar. This time around when I went thru had changed the menu abit, they didn't have the beef ribs which were one of my faves. But they still have some yummy food. One of my favourite is the candied salmon which is so good, also the rice cake and the sliced beef and rice. This is definitely a must to try especially if you like sharing food. You get to try alot of things. This place is always packed so I suggest to have reservations if you plan on coming here. The workers are also nice and friendly, I will continue to come back here. This place is great for big groups but also for small groups.

service was really good, the grilled beef and cheese was way too salty, but gyoza and kare bowl were pretty yummy! we also had fried chicken which was crispy but a bit too oily came back here again - they don’t have a lot of the things we wanted (the menu is already short enough), and forgot to switch seats for us (even though they promised to give us a bigger table later). Food is way overpriced, drinks are bad, I won’t come back again.

If I could give this place more than 5 stars I would. The atmosphere and service were great and the food was perfection! I highly recommend the pork ribs and the beef & cheese skewers. The plates are all tapas style so it’s fun to try a few options and share!

Went here with my coworkers and we got a set menu. The food was good but nothing blew me away however the cocktails were amazing. Get the yuzu honey sour!

Without a doubt this restaurant offers a culinary and a cinematic experience at the same time. Inspired by the decor of “Kill Bill” you will feel in a different place. I loved all the little details you find around the restaurant and their great variety of small plates to share. They have a wonderful selection of Japanese inspired cocktails as well as sake. It is best to go to this restaurant in a group of 5-6 so you can do the discovery menu (around 45 per person) so you can taste a little of everything. It was delicious! They do offer gluten free and vegan options. You will definitely need a reservation specially at the later Montreal dinner times.
